Winter Electrical Safety Tips

Cold weather can put extra demand on your home’s electrical system. Heaters, holiday lights, and indoor appliances all work overtime during winter — and that can lead to overloads or fire risks if not handled safely. At E&A ELECTRIC LLC, we want to help you stay warm and safe this season.

Here are a few quick safety reminders:

Inspect space heaters before use — keep them at least 3 feet away from anything that can burn.

Avoid plugging multiple heaters or large appliances into one outlet.

Check cords for cracks or damage before plugging in.

Use UL-rated lights for indoor and outdoor decorations, and unplug them before bed or leaving home.

Have your electrical panel and wiring inspected before adding heavy winter loads.

If you notice dimming lights, tripped breakers, or outlets that feel warm to the touch, schedule a professional inspection with our licensed electricians right away.
